Competitive Swimming
Development Meets
Development Meets are run by swimming clubs from across FNQ. These meets don’t require swimmers to have achieved a qualifying time in order to enter. Times achieved at these meets may be used to qualify for Preparation Meets and Regional Championships.
Transition Meets
Similar to Development Meets, Transition Meets are run by a region or club and don’t require you to have achieved a qualifying time in order to enter. Times achieved at these meets can be used for all other meets.
Preparation Meets
Preparation Meets are are run by clubs and are part of the pathway from Transition or Development meets. Times achieved at Preparation Meets can be used for all other meets, including regional, state and national championships.
Regional Championships
FNQ Swimming run two regional championships each year. Long course championships is held in March and short course championships held in July. These events are held over two days and attract swimmers from across the region. Times achieved at these championships can be used for all other meets.
Age and Open Nationals
Swimming Australia run Age and Open National Championships each year. Swimmers must meet qualifying criteria to be eligible to enter the championships.
